First of all, we need to understand why the wooden tray will be moldy.
Causes of wood mold:
General wooden tray, its water content is only less than 20%, when the water content of wood is higher than 20%, discoloration fungi and other microorganisms will multiply and grow. Therefore, if the wood after harvesting can be immediately dried to a moisture content below 20%, and the moisture content is always maintained below 20% during processing and use, it can effectively reduce the blue change, and in the process of storage, it can play a lot of good anti-mold effect, but this point most of our log plate companies due to transportation delays, Drying cycle and other factors make it difficult to dry immediately after harvesting. Therefore, the log end, board square, and wooden tray that have not been dried are easy to mold, and mold will invade the interior only under appropriate conditions.
Current ways to prevent mold:
1, drying: This method can solve most of the problems, but the cost is expensive, and easily lead to cracks in the wood, but special uses such as sealed packaging, warehouse humidity, export in the hot and humid environment at sea and so on will not work. Air drying (natural drying) is cheap but takes a long time.
2, heat treatment: to have special equipment, this method will increase the cost of treatment for manufacturers, although it can reduce the water content of wood, but can not solve the fundamental problem.
3, fumigation: This method is mainly for the export of wood packaging insecticide, and the period of validity is relatively short. Many mistakenly think that it is anti-mildew, in fact, it has no effect on the prevention and control of mold.
4, anti-mildew: The use of wood pallet anti-mildew agent to treat it, you can use water immersion or water spray treatment, the treated wood pallet is not easy to grow mildew.
