The national standard for formaldehyde emission classification and indoor Carrying Limit guidelines for wood-based panels was published(一）
According to the Standard Announcement (No.3, 2021) issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the State Standards Commission on March 9, GB/T 39600-2021 Classification of Formaldehyde Emission of Wood-based Panels and Its Products and GB/T 39598-2021 Guidelines for Indoor Carrying Limits of Wood-based Panels Based on the Limit Amount of Formaldehyde, which are managed by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Wood-based Panels, have been officially released and will be implemented on October 1, 2021.
The two standards of Formaldehyde Emission Classification of Wood-based Panels and Their Products and Indoor Carrying Limit Guide of Wood-based Panels Based on the Limit Amount of Formaldehyde are the transformation and application of the research results of the national key research and development Plan of the 13th Five-Year Plan "Wood Industry Energy Saving and Production Safety Control Technology" (project No. : 2016YFD0600700). The former is jointly completed by 50 units such as Wood Industry Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Forestry and Wanhua Hexiang Board Industry Co., LTD., while the latter is jointly completed by 45 units such as Wood Industry Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Forestry, Sophia Home FurnishingCo., LTD., Dehua Group Holding Co., LTD.
■ GB/T 39600-2021 "Formaldehyde Emission Classification of Wood-based Panels and Their Products"
Classification of Formaldehyde Emission from Wood-based Panels and their Products provides classification requirements, test methods and determination rules for formaldehyde emission from indoor wood-based panels and their products. The standard divides the formaldehyde emission of indoor wood-based panels and their products into three grades according to the limited value, namely grade E1 (≤0.124mg/m³), grade E0 (≤0.050mg/m³) and grade ENF (≤0.025mg/m³). This standard is applicable to classification of formaldehyde emission of fiberboard, particleboard, plywood, joinery board, reconstituted decorative materials, veneer laminated materials, integrated materials, veneer wood-based panels, wood flooring, wood wall panels, wood doors and other indoor wood-based panels and their products.
The standard is a refinement and supporting of the mandatory national standard GB 18580-2017 "Formaldehyde emission Limit in wood-based Panels and their Products for Interior Decoration Materials". After its release and implementation, it can promote the production and promotion of wood-based panels and their products of different environmental protection levels in the majority of enterprises, and meet the needs of consumers for more environmental protection and green wood-based panels and their products. To lead industrial technological progress, promote the green development and industrial transformation and upgrading of the wood-based panel and its products industry.
