Leather mildew agent when using the point of attention
Leather mildew protection agent use point of attention, with the increasingly strict environmental regulations, many now widely used leather mildew protection agent may be limited in use, therefore, it is necessary to study cost-effective, low toxicity, more acceptable environment leather mildew protection agent. Mildew is a popular name for filamentous fungi, which means "moldy fungi". It usually refers to those fungi whose mycelium is relatively developed without producing large fruiting bodies. They tend to grow and reproduce in large numbers in humid climate, grow visible filamentous, velvet or spider mycelium, have strong continental nature, under natural conditions, often cause food, industrial and agricultural products mildew and plant fungal disease.
Leather mold has always been a headache for leather manufacturers. Along with the increasingly extensive use scope of leather products, the export volume of leather is increasing year by year, and the problem of eliminating leather mold is becoming more and more prominent.
There are many ways to prevent leather mildew, but the most effective and the most important way is to add mildew prevention agent. A wide variety of mildew inhibitor products for leather, most tanneries use mildew inhibitor is also effective, however, generally on humans, animals, the environment and so on to bring varying degrees of impact or harm, and most of the products are expensive, high cost of use, there is no shortcomings of mildew inhibitor.
Mold grows on leather for the following three reasons
First, leather contains a nutrient source for mold growth. As we all know, leather is a processed product of natural polymer compounds, its main components are collagen protein and fat. In the processing process of leather, a large number of animal and plant oils, inorganic salts and minerals, as well as casein and other substances are added, which are good nutrient sources for mold growth.
Second, the presence of large numbers of mold spores in the air. These mold spores go wherever the wind takes them, and once they land on the leather, they're easy to grow and reproduce because they're rich in nutrients.
Third, leather processing and storage conditions, conducive to the growth and propagation of mold. The range of temperature, humidity and pH for mold growth is very wide. The suitable temperature for growth is 25 ~ 35℃, the relative humidity is higher than 75%, the pH value is generally between 1.5 ~ 11, and the optimal pH value is about 6.0. In the process of leather processing, such as acid leaching, tanning, retanning and finishing, the billet and leather are all under acidic conditions. Moreover, the porous structure of leather has strong hygroscopic property and high water content (the water content of leather is generally 14%-18%). Therefore, under the conditions of hot weather and high humidity in the south of China, leather and its products are easy to grow mildew. There is also the possibility of mildew in the north. For wet blue leather and leather products, the sultry and humid environment in the process of storage and transportation also provides favorable conditions for the mildew of leather.
"3Q" series of fungicides, preservatives, mildew prevention agents mainly include cosmetics, industrial grade, wood, dry film mildew prevention and other products, widely used in cosmetics, washing supplies, wet wipes, paper, fiber, paint, adhesive, wood, leather, industrial water treatment, industrial additives and other fields of sterilization, corrosion, mildew prevention
