How to add anti-mold fungicide to water-based paint?
Mainly refers to physical blending, which is the easiest and most common method. Regardless of the form of the mold-proof fungicide (solid, powder, liquid, etc.), it is only a physical mixture when added to the paint. Therefore, the efficacy of the mold-proof fungicide is not only related to its own efficacy, It is also closely related to particle size, degree of dispersion, and the like. Water-insoluble mildew fungicides, regardless of their mechanism of action to kill mold, must be in contact with each other. There is a certain distance between the particles and the particles of the mold-proof fungicide, and between the particles and the mold spores of the invading material. The shortening of this distance depends on the diffusion of the mold-proof fungicide in the case of wetness. The larger the particles, the worse the dispersion and the slower the diffusion. If the invading mold has sprouted before the mold-proof fungicide has spread, the mold-proof effect is lost. Therefore, the poisoning performance of the same fungicide increases with the decrease of the particle size, and the best poisoning effect when the particle size is (5-6) μm. If there are no special requirements, the mildew fungicide should be added to the dispersion as early as possible and dispersed as evenly as possible.
Our company has launched 3Q series of coating preservatives, such as 3Q-301 In-can preservatives for coating and 3Q-302 dry film preservatives ,which have more bactericidal effect, broad spectrum, high efficiency and long-lasting. It is especially suitable for anti-corrosion sterilization of various types of latex paints, various water-based paints, water-based pigments, water-based inks and polymer emulsions. A large number of evaluation experiments and practical application by users have proved that it has excellent anti-mildew effect on acrylic acid, polyvinyl acetate, polystyrene butyl ester and other copolymers, and is an ideal anti-mold agent in water-based paints and paint cans.
