Fungicide for emulsified cutting fluids
Triazines, phenyl-1.3.5-tris-triazines and phenyl-1.3.5-triethoxy-S-triazines are all fungicide products for metal working fluids. Triazine is compatible with various processing fluid components. Triazine showed high fungicidal ability at higher doses. Active triazine is used in doses between 500 and 2000ppm. Active triazine can be added either to the mother liquor of the metalworking fluid or directly to the diluent used.
Azolidins, such as 4.4-dimethyl-1.3-azolidins and 7-ethyl bicyclozolidins. Like triazine, azolidane is primarily bactericidal in its activity, but can also be bactericidal at higher concentrations. The dose used is generally 750-1500ppm of the active ingredient. Azolidines are often used as a preservative for metal working fluids, and they can also be added to the working fluid tank.
Trimethylol - nitromethane is a formaldehyde-releasing fungicide used in metalworking fluids. Trimethylol - nitromethane has rapid bactericidal properties. Adding this chemical to the system before shutting down work can be very effective in stopping the "Monday morning smell." Trimethylol - nitromethane works well with isothiazolinone fungicides. It can be used in doses of 1000-2000ppm of active ingredients to achieve bacterial control in diluents.
A mixture of 4- (2-nitrodefinite) -morpholine and 4.4 '- (2-ethyl-2-nitrocyclopropane) -4.4- dimorpholine disulfide, which has a high bactericidal effect on both bacteria and fungi in metalworking fluids. It is also one of the few oil-soluble fungicidal additives. The dosage is between 500 and 1000ppm of the active ingredient.
Phenolic compounds, including the commonly used active ingredient 2-phenylphenol (OPP) and sodium salts of OPP. The sodium salt of OPP has a higher solubility in water, and OPP is easier to add to the mother liquor of the processing liquid with low water content. These compounds have a wide range of applications and are effective against bacteria and fungi including yeasts and molds. OPP and sodium salts of OPP can be used in a wide pH range, but their properties and solubility are good at pH values greater than 9. Its use is about 500-1500ppm.OPP active ingredients; 500-1000ppm. Sodium salt active ingredient of OPP. 4-chloro-3-methyl-phenol also has a very wide bactericidal capacity. It is effective against bacteria, yeast and mold when used at 500-2000ppm. 4-chloro-3-methyl-phenol is effective at pH between 4 and 8. 4-chloro-3-methyl-phenol can be added to the mother liquor of the metal working liquid, and can also be used as an additive in the processing liquid tank.
2.2- Ammonium dibromo-3-nitroso propionate (DBNPA), in the processing liquid tank, DBNPA is effectively used at a dose of 1-2ppm of the active ingredient. Currently, a sustained-release tablet is available that is capable of delivering slow and continuous doses of DBNPA to the system in the range of 0.5-1ppm.
A mixture of isothiazolinone, 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMIT) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MIT) in the active ingredient ratio of 2.7:1 is a commonly used isothiazolinone class of chemical bactericides. This mixture is effective against bacterial and fungal contamination, including yeast and mold, and can be used in all types of metal working fluids. Although isothiazolinones are compatible with a variety of other metalworking fluid additives, they are not compatible with reducing agents, amines, mercaptobenzothiazole preservatives and fungicides 2-pyrimidine mercaptan 1-sodium oxide. The CMIT/MIT mixture is only to be used in the processing fluid tank. CMIT/MIT mixtures combined with formaldehyde condensates or copper can stabilize isothiazolinone molecules, and this combination is more suitable for use in the mother liquor of the processing fluid.
Another isothiazolinone chemical, 2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, is also used in metalworking fluids. It has only fungicidal activity. And stable at pH value of 2-10. Avoid using with sulfides, mercaptans, acid sulfites, metabisulfite and strong oxidants. The dosage of 2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one is 25-75ppm.
3-iodo-2-propyl butylcarbamate (IBPC), the amount of IBPC used ranges from 200-2000ppm of active ingredients. IBPC can be added either directly to the mother liquor of the metal working fluid or as an additive to the processing fluid tank.
2-pyridine-1-sodium oxide (hydroxypyridine-thione sodium), with a wide fungicidal range. It can be added both to the mother liquor of the water-based processing fluid and to the diluent of the processing fluid tank. This compound is effective at a pH of 4.5-9.5. Strong oxidants and reducing agents can reduce its efficiency. The dosage of sodium hydroxypyridine thione is 46-64ppm of the active ingredient.
