Does kathon preservative harm the skin?
kathon preservatives are a mixture of 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MI) and 2-methyl-5-chloro-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMI) and inorganic stabilizer, usually CMI∶MI = 3∶1. Casson is an excellent bactericide, commonly used in cosmetic products, shampoos and conditioners, as a preservative to inhibit microbial growth. It has a good inhibition effect on yeast, fungi, gramomyces, algae and so on. It is widely used in textile, paper making, oil refining, cosmetics, cleaning agent, oil field water injection, sewage treatment and other fields of sterilization and antiseptic treatment.
Direct contact of kathon stock solution with skin and mucous membranes: For example, if the skin and mucous membranes of hands, ears, eyes and other parts are in direct contact with Casson preservatives, corrosive damage may occur. Manufacturers in the washing industry need to take good protection during the production process, but consumers can rest assured that the concentration of the preservatives manufacturer recommends will not irritate or damage the skin
